Product Description

Cashews — Full Description

We supply cashew kernels processed to international AFI white-whole standards, covering the full grade ladder from the large, premium W180 through W210, W240, the widely traded W320 and the value-oriented W450. Raw nuts are steam-conditioned, shelled, peeled and hand-sorted, then graded by count per pound: W180 runs 170–180 kernels per pound, W240 around 220–240, W320 around 300–320 and W450 around 400–450. Kernels are dried to 5% maximum moisture, checked for breakage, scraped or spotted pieces and foreign matter, then packed under vacuum or nitrogen flush in 10 kg tins or 11.34 kg (25 lb) cartons — the nitrogen environment is what protects the delicate cashew oil from rancidity and gives a reliable 12-month shelf life without refrigeration. Alongside raw kernels we supply roasted and roasted-salted product for snack programmes, plus splits, butts and pieces for bakery, confectionery and nut-butter manufacturers who do not need whole kernels. Every lot is tested for moisture, breakage percentage, aflatoxin, and microbiology including Salmonella, with a Certificate of Analysis issued before shipment. Buyers include snack brands, retail packers, bakery and confectionery manufacturers and wholesale importers across the Middle East, Europe, North America and East Asia. We accept 500 kg minimums per grade for trial orders and full container programmes for regular buyers.

FAQ

Cashews — Buyer Questions

What is the difference between W180, W240, W320 and W450?

The number is the approximate kernel count per pound, so a lower number means a larger kernel. W180 is the premium 'king' grade, W240 a large gift-pack size, W320 the most widely traded commercial grade and W450 a smaller, cost-efficient kernel for processing and bakery use.

How are cashews packed to prevent rancidity in transit?

Kernels are dried to 5% maximum moisture and packed under vacuum or nitrogen flush in 10 kg tins or 25 lb lined cartons. That removes the oxygen that causes rancidity and gives a 12-month shelf life without refrigeration.

What is the minimum order quantity for cashew kernels?

Our standard MOQ is 500 kg per grade. Trial and sample-order quantities can be arranged for first-time buyers, and mixed-product containers are accepted so you can consolidate several items in one shipment.

What is the production and shipping lead time?

Grading, vacuum packing and documentation take 10–15 days from order confirmation. Transit time then depends on destination — typically 18–25 days to Europe, 22–30 days to North America, 7–12 days to the Middle East and 12–18 days to Southeast Asia from Indian ports (Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Chennai).

Which Incoterms and payment terms do you work on?

We quote EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF and DDP. Payment is normally 30% advance with balance against scanned Bill of Lading, or an irrevocable Letter of Credit at sight from a prime bank. Terms for repeat buyers are negotiable.

What export documents are provided with each shipment?

Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading / Airway Bill, Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate (where applicable), Certificate of Analysis for the lot, FSSAI licence copy and any buyer-specific documentation such as health or halal certificates.

Can we get samples before placing a bulk order?

Yes. We ship 100–500 g representative samples by courier against freight cost, drawn from the same lot you will be offered. Pre-shipment samples of the actual production lot are also sent for approval on request.
